Description:

Real Friends is an educational board game designed to give students the knowledge and skills they need to successfully navigate the world of cliques, shifting relationships, dating, and the pressures and consequences of risky behavior at parties. The importance of maintaining mutual respect in all types of relationships is stressed. Players lean how to be a real friend, to resist negative peer pressure from friends and other classmates, and to strive to be themselves instead of trying to fit the unrealistic cookie cutter mold of the "popular" girl or guy. Although they find themselves dealing with a range of social issue dilemmas commonly faced in school, they often don't talk about these issues with someone who can give helpful and reliable guidance. This game is a way for students to get this guidance and to learn how to deal with these issues before they face them and risk making mistakes that they will regret later.

The game board represents a bird's eye view of a school. The players have "schedules," and they have to visit the various classrooms and playing field in order to complete the game. As they move around the school they pick and answer cards with open ended questions. There are three deck of cards:

  • Parties and Dating
  • All About Guys
  • All About Girls

Playing time: Flexible – from 35 minutes to 50 minutes

Opended games are NOT returnable
